I'm not of a winter sports fan. I don't like snow. I don't like ice. The idea of spending the afternoon outside building a snowman leaves me..well cold. From November through March, I want to be like the bear and sleep, waking up only after the temperature is steadily above 60 degrees.
So, you would think that the WINTER Olympics would not interest me. You would think it would never grace my tv.
You'd be wrong. I love the Winter Olympics. You could say I'm almost addicted to it. From Short-track speed skating (okay, so my REAL facination with short-track is Apolo Anton Ohno...but can you blame me...he's a CUTIE!) to the newest addition of snow cross I watch it all with facination.
Especially curling. Yes, I said curling. It's one of those sports that you watch with your head cocked to the side. It's like shuffleboard on ice.
Tomorrow Chad Hedrick and Shani Davis go head to head in the 1500m (Speed Skating). Personally, I think they're both pretty obnoxious, so I gotta root for Joey Cheek, cuz so far, he has embodied what the Olympics is supposed to be about. Would you give away $40,000 in award money to charity? Most people wouldn't...I'm pretty sure I wouldn't. But he did. Pretty cool. Of course, he'll most likely make 10 times that plus in endorsements, but hey, it's still a cool thing to do in my book.
Figure skating starts tomorrow too. I'll watch, but it's not my favorite thing. But I will watch The Bobsled. And curling..there's still more curling.
But I'm going to have a crick in my neck once it's all over.

I so totally agree with the Curling thing... you watch it with your head cocked. It makes me insane, but I love watching Curling! I love the Olympics (and hate snow and ice).
